Land claims

Claim the ground under your base so nobody else can build on it, break it or open your chests. Claims work in the Overworld and the Nether.

Make a claim

Get the Land Stick. Type /claim. You can carry only one.
Mark two corners. Right-click two opposite corners of the land you want. Coloured smoke shows the shape: yellow means it fits, red means it doesn't.
Confirm. Click the [Claim it] button in chat or type /claim confirm. To start again, type /claim cancel.
Let friends in. Stand in your claim and type /claim trust and a name. Your friend must have joined the server before.

Only the surface counts toward your claim blocks, so a 10 × 10 claim uses 100 blocks, but it protects the ground from bedrock to the sky. A claim is at least 5 × 5, and it can't overlap another claim or a protected area. You can make as many claims as you like. The only limit is your claim blocks.

What a claim protects

Strangers can walk through, but they can't build, break blocks, open chests, use doors, buttons or levers, or hurt animals. You and the friends you trust can do all of that.
Explosions, fire and endermen. TNT, creepers and other explosions, fire, lightning and endermen can't wreck a claim.
PvP is not changed by a claim. It follows the world's setting.
Where. The Overworld and the Nether. The End, the hub and Skyblock have no claims.

Manage your claims

Only the owner of a claim can change or remove it. /claim info, /claim show and /claim unclaim work on the claim you are standing in, or on one of yours if you add its name. /claim tp always needs the name of one of your own claims. /claim name, /claim trust, /claim untrust, /claim expand and /claim shrink work on the claim you are standing in, and it must be yours.

/claims: Open your claims. Each claim has a page to show its border, rename it, trust friends, teleport to it or give it up. It also shows your claim blocks.
/claim info: See a claim's size, who owns it and who is trusted in it.
/claim show: Show a claim's border in smoke for 10 seconds. Green is your claim, orange is someone else's.
/claim name new name: Rename the claim you are standing in.
/claim trust name /claim untrust name: Let a friend build in the claim you are standing in, or take that back.
/claim expand blocks /claim shrink blocks: Move the edge you are facing, on the claim you are standing in, out or in by 1 to 1,000 blocks, then confirm with /claim confirm.
/claim tp name: Teleport to the middle of one of your own claims, by its name. If there is no safe spot to land, you are asked to walk there instead.
/claim unclaim: Give a claim up. Confirm with /claim confirm within 30 seconds, and its blocks come back to you.
/claim greeting on /claim greeting off: Show or hide the line that says which claim you are entering, or that you are in the wilderness.

You can also resize a claim with the Land Stick. Right-click a corner of your claim, then right-click where that corner should go. Right-click inside any claim with the stick to see whose it is.

Claim blocks

Claim blocks decide how much land you can claim. /claims shows how many you own and how many you have used.

All your Survival skill levels count, Trading too, and each level-up tells you +40 claim blocks. The blocks you start with and the blocks from skills stop growing at 25,600 together, once your Survival skill levels add up to 600. The rank bonus is given once for each rank and comes on top. Need more land?

Type /claims buy to buy up to 60,000 extra claim blocks with Lira. Pick +100, +1,000 or +5,000, or type your own number. You pay from your Survival wallet, and the price per block rises as you buy more.
